According to the locals, the wooden electric poles were installed by the villagers themselves as PDD has failed to install latest electric poles and fresh wires in the village. “The dangling electric wires fixed to these wooden poles are posing a constant threat to the life and property,” the residents told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). “We have approached the officials of the concerned department a number of times but they have always turned a blind eye towards our genuine demands.” A local Aijaz Ahmad said that most of the electric wires are tied with the trees here which poses a threat of electrocution and short circuits during the prevalence of high-speed gusty winds. They appealed higher authorities to look into the matter and address the issue on priority—(KNO) Up Next Narrow escape for operator as snow clearance machine comes under avalanche | KNO Don't Miss Hajj, Umrah body presses for direct flight from Srinagar to Jeddah | KNO
